Lamaze Childbirth PDF Print E-mail

mom-yogaLamaze Childbirth is a five-week series. This class is designed for couples who prefer more concentrated, in-depth practice on breathing, relaxation and body awareness techniques. Lamaze is an internationally recognized method of childbirth preparation taught by Lamaze certified childbirth educators.

Emphasis is placed on the role of relaxation and breathing techniques that can be “life useful.” Class content includes discussion and videos regarding the signs and stages of labor, labor variations, delivery, partner support, pain management options and early postpartum care. Both vaginal and Cesarean delivery will be addressed. Class size is restricted, and classes are tailored to meet the individual needs and concerns of class participants.

Couples taking Lamaze Childbirth will tour the Family Birthing Center, which includes Labor & Delivery, Mother/ Baby Unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Newborn care, breastfeeding, and infant CPR classes may be scheduled at no additional charge.
